Romans 8:28 says “...all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” Let’s briefly look at some examples. Jacob - Had his wages changed 10 times, and deceived into marrying Leah (Genesis 29-31). Outcome - God supernaturally blessed him. Leah conceived Judah, through whom Christ came. Joseph - cast into a pit by his brothers, sold into slavery, sent to prison (Genesis 37-50). Outcome - He became Prime Minister of Egypt. Saved God’s people from famine. David - Made big mistake. Killed Uriah and took his wife Bathsheba (2 Samuel 11). Outcome - God forgave him. Bathsheba had Solomon - the wisest man ever. 3 Hebrew Boys - Cast into furnace because of their faith (Daniel 3). Outcome - They were delivered and promoted. Daniel - Cast into lions’ den (Daniel 6). Outcome - He was delivered and promoted. Paul and Silas - Beaten and sent to prison (Acts 16). Outcome - Philippian jailer and his family saved. Formation of the Philippian Church. You and I - ‘Various trials’ (James 1). Outcome - Endurance, that we may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. You and I - ‘Fiery trials’ (1 Peter 1) Outcome - The genuineness of our faith being much more precious than gold may bring praise, honour, and glory at Christ’s appearing. Jesus Christ - Beaten, mocked, spat upon, crucified. Outcome - He rose again and offers eternal life to those who will believe in Him. These are just a few examples. God wants us to trust Him. You may not see a way through your circumstances, but God has already determined the outcome. He has promised you that your problem is just the road you have to travel to get to your blessing! He is with you always. You are not alone. Believe - ALL things are working together for good! |
